Being a Good Listener

"But I just want to help!" Our intentions are always so good when we try to help people experiencing a problem – friends, collegues, subordinates. And yet, they are not grateful for our advice, solutions, words of encouragement etc.

A fundamental error we do is that we try to solve the problem for the other person instead of supporting them in their own problem solving. That will not help them – only annoy them. Instead we need to listen in a different way...
